Description: |
The Niagara Region Business Licensing unit consists of 5 By-Law Officers, a Clerk and a Licensing Officer, and provides licensing and enforcement services in the business areas of adult entertainment, body rub parlours, second hand stores, taxi and transportation network company services, tow truck services, specialty vehicle services (shuttles, sightseeing, paratransit, and caleches), and auto wrecking and salvage services. There are roughly 7000 licenses issued annually by the Niagara Region. The existing technology used by the Business Licensing business unit is segregated and does not encompass the capabilities of a modern solution. The current systems includes a dated operational database and business licensing program. Also, the current technology does not allow for regulatory compliance activity tracking and reporting. Leadership is unable to glean required data from these systems in order to make important operating decisions. The objective of this project is to improve the unit’s business processes and the technology used to support them. The Niagara Region will entertain both on premisis and SaaS solutions. |
