This Request for Proposal (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (“Niagara Region”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for 2025-RFP-90 Data Infrastructure Strategic Roadmap and Execution Plan, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). The purpose of this initiative is to develop a Strategic Roadmap and Tactical Execution Plan aimed at modernizing and securing Niagara Region's data infrastructure, with a primary focus on the SQL Server environment. This encompasses evaluating current SQL Server deployments, configurations, and associated practices, and providing actionable strategies for enhancement. While SQL Server on-premise is currently our primary data storage solution the roadmap will also evaluate other options such as Azure SQL (hosted or managed), Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse for Teams, and SharePoint Online Lists, ensuring a cohesive and future-ready data infrastructure. The plan will align with industry best practices and standards, addressing aspects like security, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness to support the Region's evolving data needs. |
