This Request for Supplier Qualifications (“RFSQ”) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (“Niagara Region”) to prospective respondents to qualify for eligibility to provide Microtunnel Prequalification for East Side SPS Forcemain and Barrick Road Watermain Extension- Welland Canal Crossing as further described in Section A of the RFSQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”). The RFSQ will be valid for a two (2) year term commencing upon the pre-qualification notification. The purpose of this Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ) is to identify and prequalify experienced and capable microtunneling contractors for a critical infrastructure project in the City of Port Colborne. This project involves the installation of a casing pipe beneath the Welland Canal using microtunneling technology, a specialized trenchless method. The work is essential to support the Regional water and wastewater (forcemain) infrastructure, ensuring the continued delivery of reliable services to the community. Contractors selected through this RFSQ will demonstrate the expertise, resources, and proven track record necessary to successfully undertake this complex and vital tunneling project.
