| Description: |
This Invitation to Tender (the “RFT”) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (“Niagara Region”) to prospective bidders to submit bids for 2024-T-228 Geotechnical Services – Pavement Analysis and Onsite Materials Testing for Future Annual Road Strengthening and Rehabilitation Program , as further described in Section A of the RFT Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). Niagara Region undertakes a road rehabilitation program annually on various Regional Roads throughout Niagara. Work completed under the program may include shoulder widening, replacement of concrete curb, replacement of cross culverts, and asphalt resurfacing. In order to determine pavement rehabilitation strategies for future annual road strengthening and resurfacing programs, an investigation of existing pavement structure is required. The investigation is to obtain asphalt thicknesses, granular base thickness, and underlying sub-base soil properties. The Region is also interested in all other subsurface conditions that may be realized while carrying out this work. Information shall be compiled by use of the following methods: boreholes, asphalt cores and standard penetration testing. During the construction phase, Quality Assurance (QA) testing is required on materials to be incorporated into the work. The successful bidder shall obtain field samples and complete field and laboratory testing to ensure compliance of construction materials with the project specifications. |
