This Request for Tender (the “RFT”) is an invitation by The Regional Municipality of Niagara(“Niagara Region”) to prospective bidders to submit bids for Tree Removals for Hydro Relocation for the Proposed Future Reconstruction of Regional Road 87 (Lakeshore Road West) from Third Street Louth to Regional Road 34 (Seventh Street Louth) in the City of St. Catharines, as further described in Section A of the RFT Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”). Niagara Region will only consider bids received from bidders who have registered with Bids and Tenders and have obtained the RFT directly from Niagara Region’s public purchasing portal at https://niagararegion.bidsandtenders.ca/Module/Tenders/en (the “Bidding System”). Study Area and Context Regional Road 87 (Lakeshore Road West) is scheduled for upcoming road reconstruction in 2021. Ahead of the construction we require the relocation of the existing hydro, which impacts a large number of trees in direct conflict with the proposed hydro. In order to facilitate the hydro relocation we require these trees removed prior to hydro mobilization. Objectives and Schedule This Request for Tender is for the tree removal services required to facilitate the upcoming hydro relocation for the proposed road reconstruction. The successful bidder will have forty-five 45 working days to complete these removals. Removals can tentatively commence on July 15, 2020. Confirmation of all property acquisitions must be given by the Niagara Region prior to commencement of tree removals. |
